Hello everyone. I wanted to make this post because I heard from Dr. Tuohy about a project at ASU. There is a professor that is running a study about researching how social media reflects and influences our daily lives. The project is designed to be able to create a system that will describe and be able to predict certain interests in social events and how this is spread on social media, specifically twitter. The program requires the people involved in research to know computer languages to develop algorithms. While I don’t know any coding languages, the project still seems interesting and I think that I would like to participate in it.

    This is very exciting!! I personally never got into Twitter but I know it is used world wide and this project can give to great opportunities that you most likely would not be exposedw to other wise.

Hello everyone, this week I was able to finalize a code on MATLAB where I placed a marker on every single fluid particle in my simulation. With this code, I am able to see the formation of vortices much clearer. The next step in my project will be to write a code that uses a fourth order Runge Kutta to integrate and determine the time it takes for the vortices to dismantle and the particles to flow out of the vortice.

Over these past few weeks I have finished six codes for the fluid dynamics project. One of the codes plots all the data collected from DIABLO. Another code places a marker to track the individual fluid particles; a second code to this one is for placing a marker on every single fluid particle. Another code is for taking snap pictures of the different vortices. This last codes is to help with using the fourth order runge kutta method to determine the time that particles stick together.

Hello everyone. This week me and Lianyue were scheduled to begin coding. However, the computer lab that has MATLAB was not available because there was a class going on. We had to find an alternative time to work on coding. This upcoming Saturday we will be coding a series of codes to learn to use MATLAB. We are very excited to code MATLAB scripts.
